On July 22, the Crime Writers’ Association announced the winners of the 2011 Dagger awards at the famous Theakstons Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival in Harrogate, UK. Nominee Philip Kerr came up short in the contest for the 2011 CWA Dagger in the Library, which was awarded to Mo Hayder, another terrific crime fiction writer. We congratulate Ms. Hayder and all the winners. For a complete list of the nominees and winners, please visit the CWA Web site.
The Crime Writers’ Association has announced the shortlists for the 2011 Dagger awards, and Philip Kerr is nominated for the 2011 CWA Dagger in the Library, awarded to an author for a body of work rather than a single title. For this award, authors are nominated by UK libraries and Readers’ Groups and judged by a panel of librarians, all of whom work with the public. The CWA Dagger Awards celebrate the best in crime and thriller writing and are the longest established literary awards in the UK. Winners will be announced at an event staged alongside the Theakstons Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival, Harrogate, on Friday July 22.
