I liked Prayer. The idea was gutsy, the execution uneven. The novel held my interest and I went along for the ride with an attitude of you're-not-really-going-to-do-that, and he did! However, the writing wasn't as compelling as it is for the Gunther…
The shades of grey in the novels are great and add a lot of atmosphere. It's also more realistic and accurate. Kerr's done his homework and it pays off in spades.
