Who was Bernie Gunther´s wife that left him in 1956?

I have just begun reading ´´The Other Side of Silence.´´ In it, Bernie mentions the wife that had recently left him, in 1956. I don´t remember this wife from previous novels in the series, and nothing is turning up on Google.
